History
USPI was founded in February 1998 by our Chairman, Don Steen,
and our current major stockholder, Welsh, Carson, Anderson and Stowe. The company went public in 2001 and
was taken private again in April 2007. We have grown through a combination of acquisitions and de novo developments,
and have been very fortunate to attract an experienced Board and a proven management team, and to partner with prominent
physicians and health care systems.
